Who would notice?

Job centre plus staff with long service got a 0% pay rise this year and have had no media coverage. and they actually do something worthwhile - who would care if schoolkids went on strike?

Oh people would notice. It's the kind of, "aaaaaaaaah the kids are playing at trade unions" mentality.

My problem is logistics, good luck trying to organise this...

The Scottish Socialist Party organised a demo with schoolkids a couple of years ago
(it was about the IRaq war, can't remember if I was first or second year... anyway)

all that happened was the entire nation laughed and mocked them because they could't get anyone worthwhile turning up to protest.

Granted I don't think it would be a sensible idea to go on strike, loads of kids marched out of my school in the run up to the Iraq war on the threat of being suspended for truanting. Loads did and it got press coverage as well.

Like the idea.....but doubt it would be realistical or plausible at that

No, it wouldn't work and EMA is not something worth spending more money on.

As much as I like the idea....I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work. It's just easier to bombard your local MP with letters, e-mails, phone calls. They get the message in the end.

The students have no bargaining chip. It is no loss to the schools if you don't turn up, particularly as they don't have to pay EMA.

In fact from the EMA bankroler's perspective it is about the best thing that could happen.
