General question: Might be going over old ground, but the topic is, what youth facilities exist in your area, and if none are available, or don't appeal, what alternatives do you settle for?
For the least well funded areas, the the default seems to be children's (which means accompanied toddlers to early teens) playgrounds from mid afternoon to after dark, which tends to end in vandalism of the equipment, sooner or later. Giving older children a different outlet not only saves on repair costs, but may give them structure that has been lacking from their lives up to that point. On the other hand, different groups of youths tend not mix, which makes organisation a little tricky...
So, are services in your area everything you could hope for, or could things be better?
