This was the most depressing article I have seen about the health of the nation. "One in four children aged four to five in England are overweight, latest figures show." That's s ridiculously huge number of young children being overweight. Seeing as there is a world food shortage at the moment, it is surely not right for us to be feeding these little people so much!

What are your opinions?

This expanding obesity crisis, (err no pun intended), is very worrying and we should have an increase in competitive sports in schools.

It's all the junk they eat that make them fat. If people made their kids proper dinners instead of stuff from a packet I bet the kids would be much healthier.

Yeah and another thing, our school implemented this 'healthy eating' options along side chips, brgers and pizza.

The healthy eating foods are considerably more than the unhealthy stuff and usually things like salad so some teachers eat the health stuff but no-one else does and then they claim they are a 'healthy' school.

Err, yeah right.

My School has done the same but all meals are the same price: £1.15

For £1:15 you can get:

Bottle of Watter
Small Orange Juice
Soup
Main Meal or all you can eat salad bar
Yogurt
As much fruit as you like

The company that does my School lunches are called Fuel Zone.

You say that but sometimes real meals are so yummy you just have to have more!

I think the government have got it all wrong.

e.g

Don't use Beef Dripping use vegetable oil.

I don't think that changing from beef dripping to vegetable oil makes a big difference. It's the pre-packed foods that are the big problem and the government does little about all the hidden salts in these foods.

p.s

I still use beef dripping for frying and I'm just as healthy as everyone else.

Its a BBC statistic - so initially one sees it as hyperbowl.

I actually all feel sorry for the kids, and also blame the parents.

Parents choose what to feed their kids, they should be more careful about what they let their kids eat. Introduce them to healthy food and they will be fine with it.

I also find that "from the states" line as total bull****! again, more exaggeration.
